That the tone of practices for the Alamo Bowl changed as of Friday was perhaps most apparent during a period of kickoff drills.
The return team was the focus, with scouts providing coverage. One of those scouts missed an assignment, and didn’t fill a lane blocked by Tyree Robinson. As the defensive back jogged back to the line of scrimmage, he mentioned the lapse to a graduate assistant coach, and also the player he thought was to blame.
In fact, Robinson got so caught up trying to address the mistake on the sideline, he didn’t get word his group was supposed to take the field again a few reps later.
