Dakorien Moore is the 26th-highest-rated wide receiver of all time according to the 247Sports Composite, which dates back to 2000. The hype surrounding Moore is sky-high—and understandably so. I believe much of it stems from the unicorn-like freshman seasons we saw last year from Jeremiah Smith and Ryan Williams. With that in mind, I wanted to take a deeper look at how freshman wide receivers with Moore’s talent profile have historically performed in their first college season.
To do this, I examined the raw counting stats of the 50 highest-rated wide receivers from 2000–2024, per the 247Sports Composite.
