EUGENE, Ore. – Freshman Kyra Fawcett scored in the 81st minute to give the Oregon soccer team a 1-0 victory over Portland State Friday afternoon at Papé Field. It was the final tune-up for the Ducks before they begin Pac-12 play next week.
HOW IT HAPPENED: In her first game back from injury, Caitlyn Wong received the roll-out from keeper Halla Hinriksdóttir and sent a high-flying pass up the near side-line. From there, Kyra Fawcett controlled the ball and made a move around a Viking defender to give herself a clean look at the Portland State keeper.
