Sprinter Hannah Cunliffe has traded Eugene for Seattle and her Oregon Ducks singlet for an Adidas kit.
She likes the change.
"I finally can say I can run and trust my body without being worried about my leg," Cunliffe said this week by phone. "It's been a refreshing change. It feels like a huge weight has been lifted off my shoulders. It's been great."
Cunliffe withdrew from school and left the Ducks in midyear to turn professional.
From the outside, it might appear to have been an abrupt decision. But it had been brewing for a while.
