Former Oregon Ducks defensive coordinator Nick Aliotti joined me on the radio show to talk about Justin Herbert, and the time former head coach Mike Bellotti unsuccessfully tried to crush a Stanford helmet with a sledgehammer.
Said Aliotti: "I really believe Justin Herbert could use another year at Oregon."
Aliotti and I talked about Herbert's 22 college starts vs. the 41 Marcus Mariota started in his three seasons in Eugene. Also, he told the story of Bellotti attempting to crush that Stanford helmet.
Bellotti brought a sledgehammer to the pre-game pep talk. He put a Stanford helmet on the ground in the locker room and took a big swing.
