Edward Cheserek tied an NCAA record this weekend after winning his 15th individual championship

They call him King Cheserek for a reason. After struggling during the outdoor season this year, Oregon junior Edward Cheserek swept the 5,000 and 10,000 at the NCAA Championships this weekend at Hayward Field in Eugene. The wins brought Cheserek's total to 15 individual championships, which tied an NCAA record.

Cheserek began his return to dominance by winning the 10,000 on Wednesday night in 29:09.57 in front of over 9,000 fans at Hayward Field. In typical Cheserek fashion, he hung with the field until the final lap when he delivered his blistering kick.

Then, on Friday, Cheserek followed up that performance with his record-tying win in the 5,000.
