Oregon started slow, just 21 yards on their first two possessions. The offensive line gave up a sack on the first play of the game. In the second series they went for it on fourth down and couldn't get a yard. The Indiana secondary had receivers blanketed.
Indiana reached the 22 after the turnover on downs, getting 24 yards on a back shoulder throw to Elijah Surratt. Theran Johnson broke up a pass to Surratt to set up a field goal, the Hoosiers taking a 3-0 lead.
The Ducks finally showed some life getting a stop on defense.
