The University of Oregon athletics department is honoring the 50th anniversary of Title IX on Thursday by celebrating milestone achievements in the history of Oregon athletics, and celebrating as well the progress of the department's fundraising campaign to mark the anniversary.
Throughout the day Thursday, the UO athletic department is using its social media channels to celebrate landmarks in the Ducks' history of women's sports. Those range from the fielding of a women's basketball team beginning the year after Title IX was signed into law to the recent national championship finals appearance by the golf program.
