Ducks Burn Up Track At Nationals

EUGENE, Ore. — One of Oregon's star sprinters posted a top-three finish at a national championship meet Friday, and another came painfully close.

On the same day the Ducks' all-American in the women's 100 meters, Kemba Nelson, made her case to compete for Jamaica at the World Athletics Championships in Eugene come July, men's 100-meter all-American Micah Williams finished fourth Friday in the USATF Outdoor Championships at Hayward Field. Williams ran 9.90 seconds, one one-hundredth faster than his time while finishing fifth a year earlier in the U.S. Olympic Team Trials.
