Normally, you would think picking Eugene would be a no-brainer, given that the city has the 2021 World Outdoor Championships, and staged the last three U.S. Olympic Trials to rave reviews.
Putting the 2020 trials in Eugene would give U.S. athletes a chance to familiarize themselves with the the new and improved Hayward Field in advance of the 2021 world outdoor, and give Eugene organizers a dress rehearsal before the world comes to town.
