Deajah Stevens moves through to 200 semifinals at world championships

Former Oregon Ducks sprinter Deajah Stevens won her 200-meter heat at the IAAF World Athletics Championships on Tuesday to advance to Wednesday's semifinals.

Stevens finished in 22.90 seconds, which was the slowest of the winning times across the six heats.

Other heat winners were Dafne Schippers of the Netherlands (22.63), American Kimberlyn Duncan (22.74), Shaunae Miller-Uibo of the Bahamas (22.69), Dina Asher-Smith of Great Britain (22.73) and Marie-Josee Ta Lou of Ivory Coast (22.70).

American Tori Bowie, the world champion in the 100, scratched out of the 200.

Evan Jager of the United States will be looking for gold Tuesday in the 3,000-meter steeplechase final at the IAAF World Athletics Championships in London. Jager trains with the Bowerman Track Club.
