Dillon Gabriel made his first start in the NFL and he opened the game looking like the quarterback Duck fans saw last season.
In his first pro drive the third-round draft pick marched the Cleveland Browns downfield, completing passes on 3rd and 10, 3rd and 5, and 3rd and 2, 4-4 passing for 29 yards on a 13-play scoring drive for a 6-0 lead.
So far so good. On his next possession he marched the Browns down the field again, 41 yards in seven plays, but on 1st and 10 on the 31 he tried to force a pass into the left flat Andrew Mukuba jumped the route and returned it for a 75-yard touchdown.
