The 2018 college football season is almost here, with most of Oregon's 11 college football teams kicking off on Saturday, Sept. 1. That's when the Oregon Ducks and Oregon State Beavers of the Pac-12 Conference will open their seasons, while the Portland State Vikings of the Big Sky Conference begin their campaign at Nevada on Friday, Aug. 31.
The first game involving an Oregon team is coming up Saturday, Aug. 25, when the Eastern Oregon Mountaineers play host to the College of Idaho. The Mountaineers play in the NAIA's Frontier Conference along with Southern Oregon, which is coming off a banner season and is the coaches' pick to repeat as conference champion.
