EUGENE – Aaron Zavala added his fifth All-America honor when the American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA) named him a first-team selection on Saturday.
Zavala is Oregon's third ABCA first-team All-America pick, joining David Peterson (2017) and Jimmie Sherfy (2012). In total, Zavala is just the fifth Oregon player recognized as an All-American by the ABCA. Alex Keudell claimed second-team honors in 2012 and Ryon Healy was a third-team pick in 2013.
Zavala, who has also been named the Pac-12 Conference Player of the Year, as well as an All-American by the NCBWA (first team), Baseball America (first team), Perfect Game (first team) and Collegiate Baseball (second team), ended the season batting .
