Clutch Performances Spur Regional Win

NASHVILLE, Tenn. — Carrying over momentum from the Pac-12 Tournament title run proved tough for the Oregon baseball team in its NCAA Regional opener Friday afternoon.

Eventually, though, the Ducks captured the same magic. And now, they're in the winner's bracket of the Nashville Regional.

The UO bullpen continued its phenomenal hot streak Friday in Oregon's regional opener against Xavier, and the Ducks rallied for two go-ahead runs in the seventh to post a 5-4 win at Vanderbilt's Hawkins Field. Oregon advanced to a game Saturday night against the winner of Friday's late game between the host Commodores and Eastern Illinois.
