University of Oregon junior ChaQuinn Cook broke the Ducks' record in the women's triple jump Saturday in the Mt. SAC Relays at Torrance, California by leaping 45 feet, 7 inches.

That crushed Lauryn Newson's mark of 44-4 1/4 that had stood as the UO record since 2012.

Cook finished third in the event behind Georgia Keturah Orji, who won at 47-0 1/4, and professional Tori Franklin, second at 46-0 3/4.

Post-collegian Kaela Edwards won the women's 800 meters in 2 minutes, 1.06 seconds, followed by Oregon's Sabrina Southerland, second in 2:01.44.
