EUGENE, Ore. - After leading the Ducks to a pair of wins, guard Maite Cazorla has been named Pac-12 freshman of the week, the conference announced Monday.
Cazorla (Las Palmas, Spain) had a strong weekend for the undefeated Ducks, who are now 10-0, the team’s best start to the season since going 21-0 in 1978-79.
Ranking fourth in the nation in assist-to-turnover ratio (4.18) and seventh in assists per game (7.1), Cazorla dished out 19 total assists over the last two games while not committing a single turnover.
She nearly posted a triple-double in Thursday’s, 122-59, win over Portland State with 16 points, a season-high 12 assists and seven steals.
