EUGENE, Ore. – The Toronto Blue Jays selected Oregon shortstop Josh Kasevich in the second round on day one of the Major League Baseball Draft on Sunday night.

Kasevich was the 60th overall pick, the second highest selection of a position player in the modern era of Oregon Baseball. He was picked 30 spots higher than Spencer Steer, who went 90th overall to the Minnesota Twins in the 2019 draft, and 22 spots behind Aaron Zavala, the 38th-overall pick in last year's draft. He is also the fifth-highest Ducks' draft pick in the modern era, behind first-round picks Tyler Anderson (2011) and David Peterson (2017), and second round picks Zavala (2021) and Ryne Nelson (2019).
