One) Don't underestimate the importance of Mario Cristobal beating Chip Kelly on Saturday night. Everyone would have downplayed it, but if Kelly had won that game it would have stuck in Cristobal's craw and we'd all be left with a lot of questions.
Oregon won 42-21.
Good win. Convincing win. I still have questions about the Oregon offense, but clearly, putting Kelly in the rearview mirror was a nice development for the Ducks' coach. If Cristobal had a to-do list to start the season it would have included beating UCLA/Kelly (check), beating Washington (check), and being bowl eligible (check).
