Women’s slalom delayed because of gusty winds at Winter Olympics

The start of the women’s slalom was pushed back an hour Wednesday morning because of gusty winds. On Monday, the women’s giant slalom was postponed until Thursday because of blustery conditions.

Shiffrin is a favorite to defend her Olympic title in slalom. She’s also favored to win in GS and Alpine combined and to medal in downhill and Super-G should she enter them. Shiffrin has said she would like to race all five events but has only committed to slalom and GS.
