Medals will be awarded in cycling and weightlifting Saturday, with the women’s 3 meter springboard diving semifinals being held as well. Canada’s Jennifer Abel led the way into the semifinal round, with also Americans Abby Johnston and Kassidy Cook advancing.
In weightlifting the men’s 94 kg division will take center stage, with American Kendall Farris lifting in Group B. It can be tough to get into the medal spots out of Group B, with the lifters in Group A generally being the medal contenders and having the opportunity to see what half the field has registered weight-wise before beginning.
