Olympian Sam Mikulak chases his third straight U.S. all-around title, and the nation’s best gymnasts try to earn spots on the World Championships team, live on NBC and NBC Sports Live Extra on Sunday at 3 p.m. ET.
Mikulak, 22, carries a 2.35-point lead into the second and final day of competition following a stellar performance Friday. He could become the first man to three-peat since Paul Hamm from 2002-04.
That’s not the only storyline at Bankers Life Fieldhouse in Indianapolis, though.
Mikulak and the rest of the field are trying to impress a committee that will select a six-man team for the World Championships (plus two replacement athletes) within 24 hours of the end of competition.
