Group F of the women’s Olympic soccer tournament is considered by some to be the toughest of the three groups, with three of the four teams currently ranked in the top ten of FIFA’s world rankings. Germany (2nd), Australia (5th) and Canada (10th) are all in Group F, with Zimbabwe being the fourth team. Wednesday afternoon Canada will take on Australia at the Corinthians Arena in Sao Paolo (2:00 p.m., ET on NBCSN).
Canada is looking to improve upon its bronze medal finish at the London Olympics four years ago, while Australia has never won an Olympic medal in women’s soccer.
