The U.S. was taken close to the limit by the Netherlands, but ultimately prevailed in with a fifth-set win at the Maracanazinho on Monday in the Rio Olympics. The U.S. is now 2-0.
After sweeping Puerto 3-0 in its opener, The U.S. started its second Olympic match by dropping the first set to the Netherlands, 25-18.
Down again in the second set, the Americans surged back with vigor to even the match courtesy of a 25-17 win. Kim Hill and Jordan Larson combined for 19 points.
