USA Gymnastics is proposing to pay athletes abused by Larry Nassar a total of $215 million as part of a plan to emerge from bankruptcy.

The settlement offer, announced Thursday, would end claims against the federation. USA Gymnastics is being sued by more than 500 women who have said they were abused by Nassar, the longtime physician for the U.S. women’s program and Michigan State.
