The U.S. will go into the Rio Olympic track cycling competition as the reigning World champion in the team pursuit.
Sarah Hammer, who was part of the 2012 Olympic silver medal-winning team pursuit squad, was joined by Kelly Catlin, Chloe Dygert and Jennifer Valente in London on Friday.
They won what’s believed to be the first Olympic or World team title in track cycling in U.S. history.
The Americans beat Canada in the 4000m final by a comfortable 2.723 seconds after more than four minutes of cycling.
