U.S. Olympic leaders head to IOC meetings with questions about 2024, 2028 process

USA TODAY Sports

For more than a decade, the U.S. Olympic Committee has been trying to bring the Summer Games back to the country. But now with that prospect closer than ever, it has more questions than answers.

The USOC and LA 2024 head to Lausanne, Switzerland, for the bid’s final briefing with the International Olympic Committee on Tuesday and Wednesday. During its meetings, the IOC will vote on a recommendation to award the 2024 and 2028 Olympics to Los Angeles and Paris.

After that, the path forward remains unclear.
