ANAHEIM, Calif. — Two women who said they were sexually abused by the longtime team physician for USA Gymnastics and Michigan State are calling for the gymnastics federation to overhaul its board of directors.

Chairman Paul Parilla, vice chair Jay Binder and treasurer Bitsy Kelley need to be replaced, Rachael Denhollander and Olympic bronze medalist Jamie Dantzscher said Thursday. If not, USA Gymnastics will never rid itself of the culture that protected abusers and endangered children.

“What people keep missing is this is not just about Dr. (Larry) Nassar and what he did,” said Dantzscher, a member of the Sydney Olympics team.
