Shaun White says the 2022 Winter Olympics will be his last.
"This is, I think, my last run," he told NBC in an excerpt of an interview that aired Wednesday.
White has won three Olympic gold medals and been the face of American snowboarding for more than a decade. At 35, he is attempting to qualify for what would be his fifth trip to the Games. He placed eighth at the U.S. Grand Prix in Colorado last weekend.
“It’s hard to talk about because my whole life I’ve kind of been looked at as somewhat superhuman, because I do these things (in the halfpipe)," White told NBC.
