A member of the Great Britain Olympic team has been robbed while in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, at the 2016 Games and was reportedly held at gunpoint during the incident.
Per BBC Sport, the incident took place as the athlete returned to their accommodation and a spokesman for Team GB confirmed an "incident of theft," while also establishing the safety of the entire delegation: "All members of our delegation, including the individual concerned, are accounted for, and are safe and well."
According to the Guardian's Sean Ingle, the individual in question was "held up at gunpoint while enjoying a night on the town" and the incident has prompted a warning to Team GB members not to take the risk of leaving the athletes village.
