Slovakian brothers, Spain’s Chourraut nab canoe-kayak medals

Spain’s Maialen Chourraut is a gold medalist after besting her nearest competitors by more than three seconds.

Chourraut’s 98.65 in the whitewater kayak (K1) was ahead of New Zealand’s Luuka Jones and Australia’s Jessica Fox.

Brothers Ladislav and Peter Skantar of Slovakia took gold by a half-second over Great Britain’s David Florence and Richard Hounslow in the whitewater canoe double event.

France’s Gauthier Klauss and Matthieu Peche finished third. USA duo Devin McEwan and Casey Eichfeld finished 10th, last in the final.
