Serbia beats winless Senegal 95-88 in women's basketball

RIO DE JANEIRO (AP) — Sonja Petrovic scored 20 points, and Serbia wrapped up group play in women's basketball with a 95-88 win over Senegal on Sunday.

Serbia (2-3) already had clinched the final berth in Group B before tipping off, and the Serbs will play Australia, the top team in Group A, in the quarterfinals Tuesday.

Senegal (0-5) finishes its second Olympic appearance in women's basketball still seeking its first win despite a solid game against Serbia in which they shot 55 percent from the field and drilled 9 of 17 3-pointers. But Serbia took control early and led by as much as 19 before taking a 55-43 lead into halftime.
