Ruck wins Canadian record five medals at Pan Pacific Swimming Championships

Taylor Ruck took second in the 200-meter backstroke Sunday, finishing with a Canadian record five medals at the Pan Pacific Swimming Championships in Tokyo.

The 18-year-old of Scottsdale also was fourth in the 50 freestyle and swam anchor on Canada's 4x100 medley relay, which took fourth, on the elite meet's final day.

American Kathleen Baker won the 200 back in 2:06.14 followed by Ruck in 2:06.41.

Australian Cate Campbell won the 50 free in 23.81 followed by American Simone Manuel (24.22), Australian Emma McKeon (24.34) and Ruck (24.47).

Overall, Ruck finished with a gold medal in the 200 free, silver 200 back and three bronzes including in the 100 free.
