Maybe Rory McIlroy didn’t want to play in the Rio Olympics because he didn’t consider Olympic golf that prestigious. Or because of the politics concerning which country he would represent.
But the reason he gave for withdrawing in June was the Zika virus, which is the topic a 9-year-old named Billy danced around in an interview.
“If you’re so tough, how come you’re so scared of a little, tiny mosquito?” Billy asked.
McIlroy laughed.
“Good question, good question,” the four-time major champion said. “I think, when I get older, if I want to grow up, and I want to have kids, then it might have been a good decision.
