Ryan Lochte is expected to be summoned to Brazil to testify in Rio de Janeiro as part of an ongoing investigation into his claims and he and three other U.S. Olympic swimmers were held at gunpoint during the Summer Games, according to a published report on Thursday.
Fox News reported, citing a police official, that prosecutors have requested him to testify in front of Brazil's Justice Department, although there is no penalty if he fails to appear. Lochte, however, would not be able to engage in plea negotiations unless he’s in Brazil.
No charges have been announced against Lochte and police are expected to conclude their investigation this week, the network reported.
