Multiple Athletes from London, Beijing Olympics Fail Drug Retests

The International Olympic Committee announced on Friday that reanalysis of drug-test samples revealed that 30 athletes from the Beijing Olympics and 15 athletes from the London Olympics tested positive for prohibited substances, per Olympic.org.

The results came from the second wave of testing on the stored samples, with the third and fourth waves to come during and after the 2016 Rio Olympics.

According to the IOC's press release, the first two waves of testing have resulted in 98 athletes testing positive for banned substances, which includes 23 medalists from Beijing found to have tested positive in the latest wave of reanalysis.
