Mikaela Shiffrin's fourth place finish in the slalom was surprising as its a race she has an Olympic gold medal and three world championships in. Her whole Olympics have been a little different than she planned as high winds and a compressed schedule means she had to pull out of the Super-G.
So even with a gold medal, Shiffin shared some introspective thoughts about the Olympic experience.
That is real. That is life. It’s amazing and terrifying and wonderful and brutal and exciting and nerve racking and beautiful. And honestly, I’m just so grateful to be part of that.
