Justin Rose Outduels Henrik Stenson for Golf Gold Medal

Golf made its return to the Olympics for the first time since 1904. That was not enough of a draw for many of the best players, including six of world’s top 10, who chose to skip the tournament.

Still, the field included some PGA Tour winners, and three of them will leave Rio with medals after Sunday’s final round: Justin Rose of Britain won gold, Henrik Stenson of Sweden silver, and Matt Kuchar of the United States bronze.

Rose, the 2013 United States Open champion, and Stenson, this year’s British Open champion, have been among the strongest supporters of Olympic golf and showed it on the course.
