Spain’s Olympic bronze medalist, Javier Fernandez, came back for just one competition this season — the European Championships, where on Saturday in Minsk, Belarus he captured his seventh consecutive title.
Fernandez, who was third after the short program, scored 179.75 points in the free skate to a total score of 271.59 points and the gold medal.
Fernandez trained three weeks in the lead-up to Europeans in Toronto, under two-time Olympic silver medalist Brian Orser.
