Jamaican sprinters Asafa Powell and Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce dominate at Paris Diamond League

With Usain Bolt out of his planned July track meets due to an injury to his left leg, two of his fellow Jamaicans ran to victory in the men’s and women’s 100 meters at the Diamond League meet in Paris.

Asafa Powell ran the 100 in 9.81 seconds, the second fastest time of the year and his season’s best. France’s Jimmy Vicaut come in second with 9.86 and America’s Michael Rodgers came in third with 9.99.

32-year-old Powell told the IAAF, “I have proved I’m in the best shape maybe in the last seven years – remember, age is just a number.
