Jake Gibb qualifies for Tokyo to become oldest Olympic beach volleyball player ever

American Jake Gibb is set to become the oldest Olympic beach volleyball in history.

Gibb, 45, and Taylor Crabb, 29, qualified for the Tokyo Games on Friday after fellow Americans Phil Dalhausser and Nick Lucena lost in the early rounds of the last Olympic qualifiying tournament in Ostrava, Czech Republic.

Dalhausser and Lucena, both 41, will grab the second and final U.S. men’s Olympic spot later this weekend unless Tri Bourne and Trevor Crabb win the Ostrava tournament. Bourne and Crabb on Friday advanced to the round of 16.
