Markus Rehm, the German amputee long jumper bidding for Olympic inclusion, broke his IPC world record Friday with a distance that would have won the 2012 Olympic gold medal in the event.

Rehm leaped 8.40 meters at the IPC World Championships in Doha, bettering his previous record of 8.29 meters. Here’s video of the jump.
