Genzebe Dibaba’s coach released, still under investigation

BARCELONA, Spain (AP) — A judge has released the coach of world 1,500-meter champion Genzebe Dibaba, three days after his arrest near Barcelona.

Jama Aden had been detained on suspicion of administering and distributing doping substances and endangering public health. His arrest came after Spanish police allegedly found traces of EPO and other banned substances in a raid in a hotel outside Barcelona on Monday.

The judge released Aden on Thursday but retained his passport and ordered him not to leave Spain. He remains under investigation.

Nearly 30 athletes who were at the raided hotel underwent doping tests by the IAAF.
