David Boudia’s bid for repeat gold in the 10m platform dive fell flat in his sixth attempt of the final at the Olympics in Rio.
After looking set for a Top Two finish thanks to an incredible 102.60 on his fifth dive, Boudia only managed a 68.45 on his final attempt.

That would put him behind Mexico’s German Sanchez with eight divers to go. Of those eight, two could catch him: China’s Aisen Chen, who’d need just 49 points, and France’s Benjamin Auffret, who was 98.9 behind Bouda and hadn’t done better than 94.
