Olympic hurdler and University of Oregon wide receiver Devon Allen suffered what is believed to be his second torn ACL on the football field in less than two years, against Nebraska on Saturday, according to reports including CSN Northwest.
Allen suffered the non-contact injury to his left knee defending a punt return in the fourth quarter. He’s not expected to play again this season, according to the reports.
Allen, a 21-year-old junior, previously tore his right ACL on the opening kickoff of the Rose Bowl on Jan. 1, 2015 and came back to win this summer’s Olympic Trials 110m hurdles and finish fifth in the Olympics.
