Cycling BMX: USA’s Fields wins gold for men, Post silver for women

Americans medaled in both cycling BMX categories on Friday, with men’s rider Connor Fields taking gold.

Fields’ breakneck 34.642 time was enough for the top time amongst men, with countryman Nicholas Long initially finishing third before being bumped to fourth.

The Netherlands’ Jelle van Gorkom took silver, while Colombia’s Carlos Ramirez picking up bronze.

On the women’s side, American rider Alise Post finished second to Colombia’s Mariana Pajon, while fellow USA athlete Brooke Crain was kept off the podium by Venezuela’s Stefany Hernandez.
