Boxing: Claressa Shields becomes first USA fighter to win back-to-back golds

Twenty-one years old and two gold medals? The future is bright for American boxer Claressa Shields.

The No. 1 seed, Shields was fighting her third bout of these Olympics Games, and the Netherlands’s Nouchka Fontijn was her opponent.

Shields won every round on every judge’s card en route to gold in women’s middleweight boxing.

The first of four gold medal bouts on Sunday in Rio, Shields took the first round on all judges’ cards.

While Fontijn landed a couple good shots in the first round, Shields really asserted control in the second.
