The United States women’s basketball team has a powerful back court but could be without a key component for its semifinal against France, according to the Associated Press.

USA guard Sue Bird has played big minutes in each of the team’s matches, but heard a “pop” in her right knee in the Americans’ blowout of Japan on Tuesday.

Fortunately, tests revealed it’s just a sprain, and Bird is considered day-to-day. The Yanks next play on Thursday, a semifinal game versus France. The gold medal match and bronze medal matches are on Saturday.
