Andrew Bogut apologizes to Brazil, says his beef is with IOC

RIO DE JANEIRO — Andrew Bogut may have changed NBA teams recently, but nothing has changed about his candid and sometimes-cutting personality.

After criticizing the International Olympic Committee via Twitter recently for poor athlete accommodations at the Rio Olympics, the 31-year-old Australian took a moment after his national team’s win against France on Saturday to make amends to the locals he might have offended.

“The comments were never to disparage Brazil or the people of Brazil,” said Bogut, who was traded from Golden State to Dallas in early July so the Warriors could create salary cap space to sign then-free agent Kevin Durant.
