3-on-3 basketball in Rio?

Is three-on-three basketball a serious possibility for the Rio Olympics?

According to Secretary-general Patrick Baumann, FIBA will more than likely propose this new sport for the 2016 games in Rio.

FIBA succesfully already launched this platform in 2010, making its official debut in the 2010 Youth Olympic Games.

The idea behind this new competiton is that FIBA wants to create a work ranking of the best 3-on-3 teams in the world. Additionally, because of the smaller team size required to participate, FIBA is confident that more countries will be able to field teams.

So just think for a second, would the United States be as dominant if not more dominant in this competition than in traditional five-on-five basketball?

Looking down the road to Rio, a US three-on-three team could look something like Kevin Durant, Derrick Rose, and Dwight Howard. Could you think of a more lethal threesome than that?

The combinations of players are endless, hence why this proposed sport is starting to get basketball fans salivating already.

Let us know below, who would your 3-on-3 US basketball team be for the Rio Olympics?
